What is a License?
Learn what a SATIM license is and how it enables merchants to accept payments online.
What is a SATIM License?
A license is an official approval issued by the GIE Monétique, authorizing a merchant to accept online payments directly into a commercial bank account domiciled in Algeria.
Obtaining this license is a required step to activate online payment functionality for any client using our gateway.
Why Is It Required?
In compliance with Algerian banking and e-payment regulations, all businesses must be licensed before they can receive online payments. This measure ensures:
- ✅ Legal authorization to operate as an online merchant
- ✅ Transparency of transactions
- ✅ Display of the merchant's company name on the payment page for user trust
Submitting the License Request
As a partner, you are responsible for submitting license requests on behalf of your clients. During this process, you'll fill out a form containing all the required business and banking details.
Once the license is approved, the client's company name will be displayed on the hosted payment page, as required by the GIE Monétique.
This step is crucial to meet compliance standards and activate the payment application.
Note
Make sure all submitted information is accurate and complete to avoid delays during the approval process.
